About This Program

The Milwaukee Parental Choice Program is the oldest private school choice program in the United States, established in 1990. It provides vouchers for students in Milwaukee whose family income does not exceed 300% of the federal poverty level to attend participating private schools.

How to Apply

Apply through the DPI Parent Application Portal at sms.dpi.wi.gov/ChoiceParent. Applications open February 1 and close April 20 each year. Late applications accepted through November 1. Required documents include proof of income and Milwaukee residency. Email: PrivateSchoolChoice@dpi.wi.gov.
