About This Program
Created by the Alabama Accountability Act of 2013, this tax-credit scholarship program provides scholarships to eligible students through Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs). Donors receive dollar-for-dollar state tax credits for contributions, with an annual statewide cap of $40 million.
Eligibility Requirements
Priority given to students enrolled in or assigned to priority schools (D or F rated). Students with IEP or 504 plans who attended Alabama schools the prior year are eligible regardless of income. No more than 25% of first-time recipients may have previously attended private school.

How to Apply
Apply through an approved Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). The Alabama Education Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students in failing public schools to attend participating private schools.
