About This Program

Alabama's CHOOSE Act (Creating Hope and Opportunity for Our Students' Education), signed March 7, 2024, created Education Savings Accounts funded by tax credits. Students attending private schools receive up to $7,000; homeschool families receive up to $2,000 ($4,000 per family cap). Phasing to universal eligibility by 2027.

How to Apply

Apply online through the CHOOSE Act portal at chooseact.alabama.gov. Create an account, complete the application, and submit required documentation including proof of Alabama residency. The CHOOSE Act ESA is available to all Alabama K-12 students. Funds are deposited into an ESA for approved educational expenses.
