Alabama Accountability Act - Education Scholarship Program
Created by the Alabama Accountability Act of 2013, this tax-credit scholarship program provides scholarships to eligible students through Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs). Donors receive dollar-for-dollar state tax credits for contributions, with an annual statewide cap of $40 million.
Accountability Act Parent-Taxpayer Refundable Tax Credits
Part of the Alabama Accountability Act of 2013, this program provides a refundable tax credit to parents who transfer their child from a failing public school (D or F rated) to a non-failing public or private school. The credit equals 80% of the state's average per-pupil cost or actual tuition, whichever is less.
