About This Program
Mississippi's ESA program serves students with special needs who have an active IEP. Funds may cover private school tuition, textbooks, tutoring from licensed providers, standardized and AP testing, curriculum materials, licensed therapy, dual-enrollment courses, consumable supplies (up to $50/year), and computer hardware/software. Award amount based on the Mississippi Student Funding Formula (MSFF) and varies annually.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must reside in Mississippi and have had an active IEP within the past three years. Cannot simultaneously receive Dyslexia Therapy or Nate Rogers Scholarship. Home instruction is excluded. 17% of students are eligible but less than 1% are funded due to limited funding. Eligible applicants may be waitlisted.

How to Apply
Apply through the Mississippi Department of Education, Office of Special Education. Students must have a qualifying special need and an active IEP. Download the application from mdek12.org/OSE/ESA and submit it along with required documentation including the IEP and proof of Mississippi residency.
